Key Issues in Obesity Anaesthesia March 2020

The one day course that sets the standard in Edinburgh

NEWSFLASH 10/3/2020

This course has been cancelled due to Coronavirus and advise from sponsors, the hosting location and a variety of major NHS trusts in the UK.

The course organisers are devastated yet in the current climate it would be irresponsible to have so many front-line clinicians being put at a potential risk. However small we think this risk is currently.

For those of you who would like a refund then please contact our treasurer ( and copy  in so that we can keep a track on things. For the others, then please can you all let SOBA know at your earliest convenience (using both email addresses) whether you would like to be booked onto the potential meeting in October and we will book a place for you. The October date will be confirmed ASAP.

After December KI/ASM meetings, the next Key Issues course will be run in Edinburgh on 19th March with local chairs supported by SOBA council and speakers. This meeting is being exclusively supported by Drager and as such the delegate fees are reduced.

Some of the content has been moved within the programme and topics have been combined to give a new feel and more topic cohesion to the day.

In 2020 we see some new speakers and of course listening to our audience we have increased the amount of Q&A time available on the programme.

Course directors are being appointed but please do contact SOBA with any queries.

Final programme available for download below and as an image.
